Lisa Mansfield, PhD, MSN, RN


Dr. Lisa Mansfield graduated from Winston-Salem State University where she received her B.S. in Nursing and M.S.N. in Nursing Education. In 2020, she went on to receive her Ph.D. from Duke University where she earned the prestigious honor of being selected as a Jonas Scholar. In addition, Dr. Mansfield was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in 2017, has served as a Student Representative for the Bridge to the Doctorate Program, and as a reviewer for the Western Journal of Nursing Research, Nursing Outlook, and Public Health Nursing. Her most recent publication is, “Association between parental HPV knowledge and intentions to have their daughters vaccinated” which was published in the Western Journal of Nursing Research. As an NCSP scholar, Dr. Mansfield will collaborate and complete clinic requirements with Charles Drew University.

Career Interests: Dr. Mansfield is interested in pursuing a career in academia to advance her career in nursing education and build a program of research as a nurse scholar that improves HPV-related health outcomes among racial and ethnic minority populations.

Research Interests: Dr. Mansfield is interested in developing, implementing, and evaluating multi-level interventions addressing social determinants of health, with a focus on reducing disparities in HPV-associated cancers and HPV vaccination among racially and ethnically diverse groups.
