Dr. Kara Odom Walker currently serves as physician executive and chief strategist in charge of Delaware’s health and health care system. As Cabinet Secretary for the state of Delaware, she works to ensure that her denizens receive the proper health care while also providing children, families and seniors with the essential social services including food benefits, disability-related services and mental health and addiction treatment. Prior to her government work, she served was the Deputy Chief Science Officer at the Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI) as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor for Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
